**Police Officer Arrested for Assaulting Ports Worker During Lockdown in Lagos**

After the lockdown order was issued in Lagos, a police officer assaulted a ports worker who was picking up his friend, an employee at a medical equipment company.

President Buhari exempted seaports in Lagos and healthcare-related establishments from the lockdown order. However, despite these exemptions, the assault incident occurred.

Nigerian veteran rapper, Ruggedman, took to Twitter to alert the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) about the assault. He identified the police officer as M. Aliu and reported that the assault took place at Area M command, Idimu. The assaulted individual was exempt from the lockdown and possessed a pass.

He tweeted;

Head of the NPF Complaint Response Unit (CRU), ACP Markus Ishaku Basiran, stated that the erring police officer has been arrested, detained, and is now awaiting trial.
