Confirmation by Police of the Kidnapping of Three Villagers in Kwara Community and Arrest of Suspects

In Kwara State, the Police Command has confirmed the abduction of three individuals from Alo village in Ifelodun Local Government Area.

According to a statement from the police spokesperson, DSP Ejire Adeyemi Toun, the incident occurred during the late hours of February 24, 2024, at around 0030hrs. The assailants, believed to be kidnappers, launched a daring attack on Alhaji Taofio Fulani’s camp in Alo Village, Ifelodun LGA.

Three individuals were abducted and taken to an undisclosed location during the raid.

Swift action by police officers and local vigilantes led to a well-coordinated search operation in the nearby bush.

As a result, Babangida Soliu narrowly managed to escape from the kidnappers. Simultaneously, two hostages, Halimat Umaru and Husseinat Isiaka, both 20 years old, were safely rescued without harm and reunited with their families.

Further efforts to pursue the kidnappers resulted in a gun battle where one of the criminals was neutralized, although their identity remains unknown.

Two suspects, Saidu Soliu and Soliu Abass, sustained severe injuries during the confrontation and were promptly taken to the hospital for treatment.

The statement disclosed that five suspects connected to the crime were apprehended. They were identified as Ibrahim Muazu (30 years old), Asimu Salisu (25 years old), Aminu Alaka (25 years old), Aminu Temino (20 years old), and Zakariyau Suleiman (20 years old).

Recovered items from the suspects included two handmade firearms, twelve live 7.62mm AK47 rounds, eight spent 7.62mm AK47 cartridges, an empty magazine, a machete, and various plugs.
