During times of crisis, the availability of food becomes crucial, especially for vulnerable and underprivileged individuals, amidst movement restrictions.
To fulfill its commitment to enhancing lives, particularly during these challenging times, Dufil Prima Foods, the makers of Nigeria’s leading noodles brand, Indomie instant noodles, has generously donated numerous cartons of Indomie noodles and other food items to Nigerians through various state governments. The purpose of this contribution is to alleviate the hardships faced by numerous households due to the coronavirus outbreak and to address the hunger-related issues resulting from the imposed lockdown.
During the presentation of 10,000 cartons of Indomie noodles to the Ogun State Government, Mr. Tope Ashiwaju, the Group Public Relations and Event Manager of Dufil Prima Foods, expressed that the donation aims to supplement the efforts of governments at different levels during these trying times.
The donation to the Ogun State government covers distribution in Abeokuta, Ado Odo Ota local government, Ota, and the isolation center in Ikenne. This gesture supplements the previous delivery of one thousand cartons of Indomie and five hundred cartons of power pasta to the River State Government in Port Harcourt last week.
According to Ashiwaju, “Understanding the challenges faced by governments in providing support to different households during this difficult time, we felt it necessary as a brand to collaborate with the government to alleviate the burden faced by families due to the coronavirus pandemic. Our aim is to minimize the impact of the lockdown, instituted to curb the virus spread, and provide emergency food solutions to households.”
He added, “Dufil is dedicated to enhancing the lives of every household, even during this difficult period brought about by the coronavirus. We believe that continuous access to healthy and nutritious meals should not be a concern for any family, hence the supply of Indomie noodles and other food items to state governments for distribution to households following their designated models.”
Dufil acknowledges the sacrifices and courage of medical personnel who are risking their lives to care for infected individuals and help contain the virus spread in the country. Dufil also urges Nigerians to continue abiding by the guidelines provided by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), and Federal and State Health Agencies, to curb the virus spread.
