Commissioner Fanwo Denies Governor Ododo Assisted Bello in Avoiding EFCC Arrest

Kingsley Fanwo, the Commissioner for Information in Kogi State, has refuted claims that Governor Usman Ododo shielded ex-Governor Yahaya Bello from an arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

During an appearance on Channels Television, Fanwo asserted that Ododo was not involved in Bello’s departure from his residence, dismissing the EFCC’s allegations as misinformation.

According to him, “Bello is not evading anyone, as an existing court injunction safeguards his fundamental rights.”

Additionally, Fanwo emphasized that a state high court injunction shields Bello from harassment by the EFCC, highlighting Ododo’s commitment to upholding the law and the Nigerian Constitution.

Recent reports from NewsNow revealed that EFCC operatives had encircled Bello’s house in Abuja, but Ododo’s timely arrival and subsequent departure prompted speculations of Bello’s exit with him.

Subsequently, Bello has been declared wanted by the EFCC and placed on a security watchlist by the federal government.
