Clash between rival bandit groups results in over 30 deaths and numerous injuries in Zamfara

In the Kawaya community of Anka Local Government in Zamfara State, a violent confrontation between rival bandit groups has led to the death of more than 30 bandits, with several others sustaining injuries.

The clash was reportedly triggered by a dispute over cattle rustling among the bandits, according to a resident named Usman Abubakar.

Abubakar expressed satisfaction at the bandits turning against each other, suggesting that this internal strife might bring an end to the long-standing issue of banditry in the area.

The village has experienced a newfound sense of calm since the clash began, with the bandits, who have been a source of terror in the region for years, now engaged in infighting.

This recent confrontation between the rival factions marks the latest episode in a series of violent incidents in the state.

As of the time of reporting, neither the state government nor the security agencies have issued any official statements regarding the incident.
