Chippa United Could Allow Nwabali’s Departure Amid Interest

Siviwe Mpengesi, the owner of Chippa United, has indicated that the club is open to letting Stanley Nwabali depart this summer if a compelling offer arises, as per PUNCH Sports Extra.

Nwabali has reportedly garnered interest from English Championship side Queens Park Rangers and Saudi Pro League club Al-Ettifaq. Additionally, Kaizer Chiefs have been linked with the Nigerian international in their quest to find a successor to Itumeleng Khune, whose future at the club remains uncertain.

Speaking to iDiski Times, Mpengesi mentioned, “We are engaging with several overseas clubs. We believe that Nwabali deserves better, especially after his notable performance at the AFCON in Ivory Coast.

“Finishing as runners-up, he was the second-best goalkeeper at AFCON. Therefore, if a promising opportunity arises abroad or even locally with a lucrative offer for Nwabali, we won’t obstruct his departure.”

Nwabali’s recent clean sheet in Chippa’s Nedbank Cup quarter-final against TS Galaxy underscores his worth as a goalkeeper. He is anticipated to retain his spot in goal for Chippa United in their upcoming clash against SuperSport on Saturday.

The Chilli Boys currently occupy the 10th spot in the PSL standings with 29 points from 23 matches.
