Sergio Aguero, the former Manchester City striker, has alleged that Chelsea had a chance to sign him but turned it down.
Aguero revealed that back in 2009, during his time at Atletico Madrid, Chelsea showed interest in signing him for the Premier League club.
However, the interest eventually faded away, leading Aguero to join Manchester City two years later.
During an interview with The Club YouTube channel, Aguero shared, “After that game, a few months later, my agent informed me about Chelsea’s interest.”
He continued, “Having spent three years at Atletico Madrid, I was keen on playing in the Premier League, but Chelsea’s interest dwindled. Initially, they were interested, but later my agent conveyed that they reconsidered.”
