During a recent interview, Manchester United’s Casemiro disclosed that Real Madrid’s president, Florentino Perez, attempted to prevent his departure from the club.
In the summer of 2022, Casemiro joined the Red Devils for an estimated €70.65 million, although the transfer faced obstacles due to Perez’s sudden change of heart.
Discussing the situation, Casemiro shared, “During the final negotiation stages with Manchester United, Florentino Pérez expressed reluctance to let me go.”
He further revealed, “Perez avoided discussing my departure from Real Madrid directly with me, leading me to speak with other club officials,” as mentioned on Chiringuito.
Despite the move, the Brazilian midfielder expressed his continued admiration for the LaLiga powerhouse and even watched their recent Champions League victory against Manchester City.
