Capello Criticizes Hakimi and Dembele for Poor Performance

In the aftermath of PSG’s disappointing defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League semifinal second leg, Fabio Capello, a former England manager, did not mince words when assessing the display of Achraf Hakimi and Ousmane Dembele on the wings.

While PSG’s hopes of a treble were dashed, Capello pointed out the lackluster impact made by the duo from the flanks, labeling their performances as disastrous with a scarcity of threatening crosses.

Capello commented, referencing Kylian Mbappe’s underwhelming contribution, stating that Hakimi and Dembele usually provide more on the right flank but failed to do so in this crucial fixture. He remarked, “They were disastrous, failing to deliver any dangerous crosses.”

Furthermore, Capello criticized the timing of the substitutions made by the coach, suggesting that introducing faster players earlier in the match could have changed PSG’s fortunes. He noted that the initial lineup played too simplistically.
