Call for Immediate Release of Miyetti Allah National President, Bodejo

In Nigeria, the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, a socio-cultural organization representing the Fulani community, has demanded the immediate release of Alhaji Abdullahi Bello Bodejo, their national president, who is currently detained by Nigeria’s Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA).

Engineer Saleh Alhassan, the group’s Secretary, issued a statement in Abuja on Tuesday, urging for Bodejo’s release. He expressed concerns over how Bodejo’s detention is impeding progress towards unity, understanding, and reconciliation among various ethnic groups. Alhassan emphasized the value of Bodejo’s contributions and wisdom in facilitating constructive dialogues and resolving existing tensions in the country.

According to Alhassan, the release of Bodejo is crucial not only for justice but also as a significant step towards establishing an environment of reconciliation, tolerance, and mutual respect among all communities.

It is worth noting that Bodejo was arrested on January 23 at the Miyetti Allah office in Karu LGA of Nasarawa State due to the unveiling of a vigilante group within the state. Subsequently, he was presented before a Federal High Court in Abuja, facing a three-count charge related to terrorism.
