Gianluca Di Marzio, a well-known football transfer expert, has disclosed that Napoli’s Victor Osimhen could potentially make a move to Premier League heavyweights Arsenal or Chelsea in the upcoming summer transfer window, despite significant interest from PSG.
The Nigerian striker recently committed to Napoli until 2026, with a hefty release clause set at 130 million euros.
PSG has set its sights on Osimhen as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappé, who appears poised to leave the club.
Osimhen brings invaluable experience from his time at Lille in Ligue 1, where he featured in 27 matches and scored 13 goals during the 2019-2020 season.
Di Marzio, however, hints that Osimhen’s inclination leans towards Chelsea or Arsenal, rather than a return to Ligue 1.
Despite PSG being at the forefront due to their existing relationship with Napoli, Osimhen’s primary interest is in a prospective move to the Premier League, where he hopes to display his skills on a fresh platform.
Regarding PSG, Di Marzio stated, “I’m not entirely convinced Osimhen will join PSG. He’s already had a spell in France with Lille. Logically, PSG offers a different allure and the chance to compete in matches like the Champions League semi-final, but his heart is set on England.” This sentiment was shared in remarks relayed by Spazio Napoli.
“Chelsea and Arsenal are two clubs that might secure Osimhen’s services,” he added.
