Basketball Star Kevin Durant and Three Brooklyn Nets Players Test Positive for Coronavirus

American basketball star Kevin Durant and three other Brooklyn Nets players have received positive test results for the coronavirus.

 

On Tuesday, March 17, the Nets disclosed that four of their players had tested positive for COVID-19 without disclosing their names. The team revealed that all four Nets players are under quarantine, with only one experiencing symptoms.

Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that Kevin Durant confirmed the news and stated that he is currently doing fine. Durant said:

 

 “Everyone be careful, take care of yourself and quarantine. We’re going to get through this.”

 

The team was reportedly tested upon returning from their game at San Francisco’s Chase Center, and the results were received on Tuesday.

States have started to shut down restaurants, bars, gyms, and schools in an effort to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, which has claimed at least 110 lives in the United States.

 

There are at least 6,300 confirmed cases in the U.S, with COVID-19 cases reported in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.

 

Internationally, there are over 197,490 confirmed coronavirus cases and more than 7,940 deaths, based on data collected by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
