In anticipation of this weekend’s highly anticipated Premier League clash between Manchester City and Arsenal, former France defender Bacary Sagna offers his insights.
Sagna, who has had stints at both clubs during his career, is leaning towards a draw as the likely result.
Arsenal is currently sitting at the top of the table leading Liverpool by goal difference.
However, a victory for City at the Etihad on Sunday could see them overtake the Gunners.
Prior to this season, Arsenal had faced 12 consecutive defeats against City in the league. Nonetheless, Mikel Arteta’s squad broke the streak with a 1-0 home win against Pep Guardiola’s team in October.
When pressed for his forecast, Sagna shared with Paddy Power: “I foresee a draw between Manchester City and Arsenal at the Etihad.
“Manchester City can be vulnerable at home due to their attacking style, which often exposes them to counterattacks. We are all aware of the speed possessed by Arsenal’s players.
“Their attacking prowess is a double-edged sword as they can pressure any team, but Arsenal is equally adept at pressurizing opponents, so my prediction is a stalemate.”
