Atiku: Dismal Reality of Workers’ Welfare on May Day

In a message commemorating International Workers Day, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar lamented the ongoing disparity between promises of wage increases for Nigerian workers and their actual conditions under the current government.

Atiku empathized with the plight of Nigerian workers, highlighting the unfavorable government policies that have exacerbated their challenges.

Reflecting on the recent uncertainties surrounding fuel subsidies, Atiku criticized the government’s handling of the situation, pointing out the lingering repercussions on the populace.

He criticized the government’s abrupt decision to remove the subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit without consultation, deeming it a disregard for the welfare of both workers and the public.

Addressing the continuous rise in tariffs without tackling underlying corruption and inefficiencies, Atiku condemned the burden placed on Nigerian citizens to sustain a flawed system.
