Ally McCoist praises Super Eagles star as the best

One of Rangers’ legends, Ally McCoist, has labeled Nigeria’s Leon Balogun as the top centre-back of the team.

This declaration came after an outstanding display by Balogun in the Scottish Cup match against Hearts last Sunday.

McCoist commended the 35-year-old defender for his stellar performance and insisted that the Super Eagles’ player should remain a key part of the team.

“I believe Butland, Balogun, and Dessers will feature in the upcoming games. Leaving out Balogun now would not be justified,” McCoist stated according to Rangers Review.

Alan Hutton, another pundit, chimed in, saying, “I was discussing this as the game concluded.”

“If I had performed as Balogun did in a semi-final and then didn’t start the next game, I’d be very disappointed. I’d be knocking on the manager’s door,” Hutton added.

McCoist further emphasized his point, saying, “Based on his performance today, Balogun is currently the top centre-back. Goldson may reclaim his spot, but it might come at the expense of Souttar.”
