Allegations of Death Threats by Ohanaeze President Iwuanyanwu, Naming Responsible Parties

Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has come forward to reveal threats against his life and attempts to set his residence on fire.

He spoke out against certain individuals within the Igbo community who harbor anti-Igbo sentiments and are plotting to harm him due to his leadership in Ndigbo.

At a briefing held at the Ohanaeze Ndigbo secretariat in Enugu, Iwuanyanwu made these troubling revelations.

He drew a connection between those threatening him and the untimely death of his predecessor, Prof. George Obiozor.

According to Iwuanyanwu, the situation has escalated to a critical point where individuals were hired to burn down his house or even cause him harm.

Despite these threats, he remained resolute, recounting an incident where a hired individual recognized the kindness he had extended by sponsoring their brother’s education through a scholarship scheme.

Expressing his dismay at the hostility he faced simply for wanting to serve his people, Iwuanyanwu also highlighted similar attacks on past Ohanaeze leaders.

He narrated the tragic events that unfolded for his predecessor, Prof. George Obiozor, whose house was set ablaze in an attempt on his life.

Additionally, he recounted a similar attack on Nnia Nwodo, the former President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, where his house was bombed in his village in Ukehe, Enugu State.
