In an article published in The Athletic, Shearer outlined why he is backing Manchester City despite their current third-place standing, one point behind their rivals.
Shearer pointed out that City’s experience with the pressures of chasing titles gives them an advantage in the race. He stated, “My gut feeling is that Manchester City is the team to beat now, even though they are placed third in the standings, just a point behind the top two.
