In Cote d’Ivoire, West Bromwich Albion center-back, Semi Ajayi, has showcased remarkable consistency by featuring in every minute of Nigeria’s matches at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.
Ajayi has contributed a total of 570 minutes to the Super Eagles’ campaign in the competition.
Throughout the AFCON 2023 finals, the defender has made six appearances for Nigeria.
Playing alongside vice-captain William Troost-Ekong and Calvin Bassey, the 33-year-old has established a strong defensive partnership for the Super Eagles.
It is anticipated that Ajayi will be included in the starting line-up for Nigeria’s final encounter against the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire on Sunday.
With 33 international appearances and one goal to his name, the former Rotherham United player has been a consistent performer for Nigeria.
