In a thrilling semi-final second leg at Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo on Thursday night, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side outplayed Olympic Marseille, winning 3-0 and advancing 4-1 on aggregate.
Lookman not only scored a goal but also provided an assist in the crucial encounter.
This achievement marks Atalanta’s debut in a European competition final.
Speaking to UEFA’s official website, Lookman shared his joy, saying, “Yes, we made history. An amazing performance from the team. We’re in the final and we’re going to Dublin so I’m very, very happy. I’m very happy with the goal obviously, and helping the team any way I can.”
The Serie A club is set to face Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen in the final showdown in Dublin on Wednesday, May 22.
