Addressing Malnutrition: Nonye Soludo Introduces ‘Nonye Healthy Living Pap’

Introducing a natural baby formula named ‘Nonye Healthy Living Pap,’ the wife of Anambra State governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, aims to promote healthy growth among children and combat the challenges of malnutrition in the state.

At the unveiling ceremony held at the Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre in Awka, the state’s capital, Soludo emphasized that the initiative’s goal is to assist children with special nutritional requirements and implement a program to address malnutrition issues.

This project, part of the ‘Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative,’ aims to combat malnutrition in children by complementing existing government policies related to health and nutrition.

She highlighted the importance of investing in the healthcare sector, focusing on primary healthcare delivery, and promoting nutritional security through initiatives such as exclusive breastfeeding, which has helped Anambra State improve its national nutritional standing compared to other states.

Over the years, Anambra State has shown consistent progress in addressing nutritional needs, outperforming other states in the Southeast Zone.

Regarding the motivation behind the initiative, Soludo shared, “Following discussions with UNICEF on tackling malnutrition in Anambra State, we were inspired to take action. As a self-funded NGO, we are committed to making a lasting impact in addressing nutrition challenges.”

She emphasized that promoting healthy living is crucial for societal well-being, stating that “healthy living is not just a choice but a necessity for progress.”

“Nonye’s Healthy Living Pap” is a natural meal designed to provide essential nutrients for children dealing with malnutrition, containing ingredients like groundnut, corn, and soya beans to offer carbohydrates, healthy fats, fiber, protein, and zinc, along with vitamins and iron.
