Adams Oshiomhole Pledges Support for APC Candidate in Edo Governorship Race

Senator Adams Oshiomhole of Edo North has affirmed his commitment to ensuring Senator Monday Okpebholo, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), emerges victorious in the September 21 governorship election.

During the weekend’s inauguration of the party’s Campaign Council for the election, Oshiomhole expressed his readiness to play a pivotal role in securing the APC’s success in the gubernatorial race.

In his address, the former governor declared his willingness to undertake any task, even as humble as the role of a sweeper, to secure Senator Monday Okpebholo’s victory in the governorship contest.

He urged residents, particularly those affected by flooding and whose children lack basic school amenities, to join hands in ensuring the APC emerges triumphant in the election.

Oshiomhole emphasized the collective responsibility of all APC members and supporters in championing genuine change under Senator Monday Okpebholo’s leadership, downplaying the significance of titles within the party.

Senator Matthew Urhoghide, the Director General of the APC Campaign Council, also called on disenchanted party members to reconcile their differences and collaborate towards securing victory for the party, stressing the need to focus on unity rather than monetary concerns.

The Edo State electorate will cast their votes on September 21 to elect the state’s next governor, with Senator Monday Okpebholo representing the APC, Asue Ighodalo vying for the PDP candidacy, and Olumide Akpata standing as the Labour Party’s contender.
