A man is apprehended by the Police for fraudulent land sale in Osun

Authorities have arrested a 42-year-old man named Lasisi Ismail for unlawfully selling a parcel of land in Ilori-Agbedu, Ede, Osun State, using counterfeit documents.

The suspect reportedly sold the land to a woman named Mrs. Afolabi for N800,000, while posing with fake documentation, as per information gathered by NewsNow.

Confirming the incident, the Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, CSP Isaac Omoyele (rtd), disclosed that Ismail was apprehended following a report lodged at the Amotekun Headquarters in Osogbo. The perpetrator had fled after selling the land.

Omoyele stated, “After receiving the report, our operatives swiftly acted, leading to the arrest of the suspect at his hideout.

“Initially, Ismail claimed he had purchased the land from the Mogaji family and presented a forged receipt. However, he later confessed to fabricating the documents. The authenticity of the transaction was confirmed when the Mogaji family produced the original receipt, exposing Ismail’s deceitfulness.”

Omoyele also urged residents of Osun to exercise caution when engaging in land transactions.

The suspect has been handed over to the Police for further questioning and legal proceedings.
