A Group Questions PDP’s Authority to Advise Tinubu on Governance

Expressing strong opinions, The Democratic Front, TDF, has stated that the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, is not morally justified to offer advice to President Bola Tinubu on governance. The group also believes that the PDP cannot claim to possess a miraculous solution to rescue the nation’s economy, especially considering the economic challenges the country faced during the 16 years of PDP’s rule.

In a joint statement signed by Chairman Danjuma Mohammed and Secretary Wale Adedayo, the group responded to the communique issued by the PDP at the conclusion of its National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting.

The group emphasized that the country is still grappling with the aftermath of the economic devastation caused during the years of PDP’s administration.

Questioning the credibility of a political party that failed the nation and led it into a dire economic situation, the group criticized the PDP for speaking as if they had solutions to the economic challenges. Instead of acknowledging their past failures, the PDP is busy commenting on the proactive steps and reforms being implemented by President Bola Tinubu, according to the group.

The group suggested that the NEC of the PDP should have focused on uniting their fractured party structures rather than issuing statements that lack credibility.

Highlighting the insensitivity displayed by the NEC members towards the consequences of PDP’s misrule over the years, the group underscored the hindrances posed by the PDP to the growth and development of Nigeria.

According to the group, a political party that mismanaged Nigeria’s resources and squandered its national wealth for a significant period should show remorse and accept responsibility when discussing economic recovery and governance.

The group concluded by stating that the failures of the PDP and its history of maladministration will always be remembered, making it absurd for the PDP members to criticize President Bola Tinubu’s economic team and demand a reversal of the successful economic policies he has implemented.
