The decision has been made by Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, between two football icons, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Considered by many as the greatest players to grace the game, Ronaldo and Messi continue to showcase their prowess even in the later stages of their careers, collectively amassing over 800 goals for both club and country.
Having represented some of the most prestigious clubs in football, both players have claimed numerous prestigious titles throughout their illustrious careers.
While currently playing outside of Europe, Ronaldo made a move to Saudi Arabian powerhouse Al-Nassr in December 2022, and Messi opted for MLS outfit Inter Miami.
Arteta, without hesitation, has clearly favored Messi, noting that even his three sons have a strong admiration for the Argentine maestro.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Arteta expressed, “When it comes down to it, it’s always been Lionel Messi. My 3 boys share the same sentiment. We’ve been incredibly fortunate to witness the finest player in history. In my opinion, he stands as the greatest of all time.”
