Nigerian Navy Thwarts Attempt to Smuggle Illegal PMS to Cameroon
Operation Delta Sanity, a unit of the Nigerian Navy based in Ibaka, Akwa Ibom State, successfully intercepted a wooden boat transporting drums of illegally refined petroleum destined for Cameroon.
On Sunday, the Nigerian Navy announced the interception through an official statement posted on its verified Facebook page.
As per the statement, "On Saturday, May 18, 2024, the Forward Operating Base Ibaka intercepted a wooden boat loaded with drums of illicitly refined PMS cleverly disguised among construction materials and household goods en route to Cameroon."
Following the interception, two individuals were apprehended and are currently detained for further processing and handover to the appropriate authorities in Akwa Ibom State.
