Three Suspected Fraudsters Impersonating Governor Usman-Ododo’s Wife Apprehended by Police

Police authorities in Kogi State have detained three individuals suspected of engaging in fraudulent activities by pretending to be the governor’s wife, Sefinat Usman-Ododo.

According to SP Williams Ovye-Aya, the police spokesperson, the suspects, whose identities have not been disclosed, are currently held in custody at the Police Quick Response Unit.

The spokesperson elaborated that the suspects allegedly created and distributed forms to the public, misleading them into believing they were signing up for a non-existent empowerment program.

Using the title “Kogi State Cooperative Federation of Nigeria” on the forms, the suspects deceived individuals by falsely claiming it was an initiative linked to the First Lady’s office.

“The apprehension of the suspects took place in Lokoja following an operation where an undercover agent procured one of the fraudulent forms,” stated the Police Public Relations Officer.

He further emphasized, “This case is presently under investigation, and upon its conclusion, the suspects will be duly prosecuted.”
