Appreciation for Tinubu’s Efforts on South-East Development by Anambra Federal Character Commissioner

Rev. Ukadike Ibeabuchi, the Federal Character Commission representative for Anambra State, praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for enacting the South-East Development Commission Bill.

Hailing from Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Ibeabuchi shared his commendation in an interview with South-East PUNCH correspondent, emphasizing the President’s steadfast commitment to the growth, development, and prosperity of the South-East region.

The legislation, introduced by Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, aims to assist in the reconstruction of the South-East, which bore the brunt of the civil war 54 years ago.

The commission’s role will involve managing funds from the federation account allocation to repair and rehabilitate infrastructure like roads, houses, and other assets damaged during the civil war, even decades after its conclusion.

In response to this development, Ibeabuchi highlighted how this law signifies a crucial milestone in the region’s narrative, empowering its residents to steer their development course and compete effectively with other regions in Nigeria, West Africa, and beyond.

He expressed, “I am thrilled to extend my sincere appreciation to President Tinubu for decisively signing the South-East Development Commission Bill into law.

“This significant achievement underscores the President’s unwavering dedication to fostering growth, development, and prosperity in the South-East region.

“President Tinubu’s forward-thinking leadership and commitment to bridging the developmental disparities in our region are truly laudable. The endeavors of his administration to tackle the unique challenges of the region and leverage its immense potential serve as a beacon of hope for a brighter future.”

“The enactment of this bill signals a turning point in the region’s trajectory, enabling the populace to drive their development agenda and compete favorably on regional and international scales.”

Ibeabuchi emphasized how this legislation epitomizes the President’s genuine concern for the welfare and advancement of the South-East region, dispelling misconceptions and silencing critics.

He added, “I also wish to express gratitude to our distinguished lawmakers, particularly the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Kalu, and the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, for their unwavering dedication in ensuring the bill’s passage. Their contributions have paved the way for a brighter future for our region, and their commitment to the South-East’s development is truly commendable.

“The South-East Development Commission offers a comprehensive framework addressing crucial sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic empowerment. Its implementation will directly impact lives, generating opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation.”

“As we celebrate this milestone, we must recognize the President’s emphasis on unity, inclusivity, and regional progress. His administration’s initiatives to tackle regional challenges and support economic growth reflect a keen understanding of the region’s capabilities and its contribution to national development.”

“This noteworthy achievement showcases his visionary leadership. I urge all stakeholders to rally behind the bill’s implementation and collaborate towards a brighter future for our region.”
