On Wednesday, a devastating road accident occurred in Dutsin-Hari, a community along the Jalam-Lanzai Road in Darazo Local Government Area of Bauchi State, resulting in the tragic death of four women.
The unfortunate incident was caused by overspeeding, leading the vehicle carrying the women en route to Sade Market to lose control and somersault.
The four victims have been identified as Ai’shatu Salihu (25), Furera Haladu (25), Zuwaira Dandija (19), and Lahala Muhammed (41).
Additionally, several other passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries and were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
SP Ahmed Wakili, the spokesperson for the Bauchi State Police Command, confirmed the tragedy to the press on the same day.
He mentioned that the ill-fated vehicle was carrying over 30 passengers at the time of the accident.
“Numerous individuals suffered injuries. Upon their admittance to the hospital, four fatalities were tragically confirmed by medical personnel,” he lamented.
