Desperate plea from a mother seeking justice after alleged defilement of her daughter by father

Eucharia Okpalannadi, a 58-year-old mother, is seeking assistance from relevant authorities to ensure justice for her three-year-old daughter who was allegedly defiled by her father. She also claimed that her husband, Magnus Okpalannadi, has threatened her life for exposing the suspected abuse in Onitsha, Anambra State.

Eucharia, a native of Amesi in Aguata Local Government Area of the state, has been married to Magnus Okpalannadi from Achina in the same LGA for about 26 years. She shared her harrowing ordeal with the state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, in Awka over the weekend.

Narrating her distressing situation, Eucharia revealed, “We have five children, four girls and one boy who happens to be the twin to the defiled child. I had initially dismissed my daughter’s complaints of abuse by her father as a joke until the child persisted.

“The little girl kept telling me that her father had been touching her private parts. I initially brushed it off as a joke until I noticed the state of her private parts was concerning. When I confronted my husband about it, he denied everything.”

Unconvinced by her husband’s denial, she took her daughter to a hospital in Onitsha where the doctor confirmed the abuse. Fueled by anger and concern from loved ones, Eucharia decided to make the issue public in hopes of obtaining justice for her daughter.

She expressed fear for her life post-exposure, labeling her husband as a dangerous individual capable of harming them due to the revelation. Eucharia pleaded for her husband’s arrest and prosecution before he caused further harm to her, her daughter, and himself.

She also urged those seeking financial gain from the situation to cease, as she was receiving support from the Anambra State Government through the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare for herself and her twin child.

Reacting to the distressing situation, Commissioner Obinabo emphasized the seriousness of the issue, cautioning against irresponsible reporting that may harm the victims and the ongoing security investigation. Despite the suspect being at large, she assured that the government is committed to apprehending the perpetrator and delivering justice.

Describing the incident as tragic, Obinabo reassured the public that efforts are underway to capture the fleeing father and ensure accountability.
