Discovery of Weapons at Delta Kidnappers’ Hideout

Within the confines of Ughrughelli village, a subclan in Agbarho in Ughelli North Local Government Area, the Delta State Police Command successfully retrieved a sack filled with three AK-49 rifles, two AK-47 rifles, and 207 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition that were believed to belong to suspected kidnappers.

On 30/05/2024 at approximately 1050hrs, the recovery was carried out adjacent to the rail track as reported by NewsNow.

The Divisional Police Officer, DPO Agbarho Division, played a pivotal role in facilitating the recovery, according to a statement shared by Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe.

During an extensive search operation upon cordoning off the area, hidden sack bags were discovered. Subsequent examination of the contents led to the retrieval of three (3) AK-49 rifles, two (2) AK-47 Rifles, and a total of Two Hundred and Seven (207) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition.

As outlined in the statement, the Police have initiated a significant effort to track down the suspected kidnappers who managed to flee the scene.
