Gunmen Seize Lecturer at Nasarawa State University in Keffi

In a state of confusion, the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) community has been shaken by the abduction of Dr Comfort Adokwe, one of its lecturers, by unknown gunmen.

Dr Adokwe, who is a lecturer in the Faculty of Administration and also holds the position of Deputy Director of Gender Studies at the university, was kidnapped from her residence in Angwan Jaba in Keffi on Sunday night.

Comrade Ali Sule, the Chairman of the Community Development Association, confirmed the incident to NewsNow. He stated that the gunmen forcefully entered the lecturer’s compound late at night and took her to an undisclosed location.

Prior to her abduction, the kidnappers fired several shots into the air.

Sule shared, “It’s true, our beloved sister, Dr Comfort Adokwe, was kidnapped last night by unknown gunmen at her residence in Angwan Jaba, Keffi. We pray for her safety, security, and a prompt return to us. We are urging the security agencies to take action and bring her back safely.”

When contacted by NewsNow, DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, stated that he was not aware of the incident as he had not been briefed.

“I have not been briefed,” Nansel remarked.

This incident follows the recent kidnapping of four students from their hostel near Angwan Kare, which took place just a week ago.
