A woman from Zamfara State has been presented before the Unguwar Gwaza High Shari’a court and accused of aggravated assault against her 12-year-old stepdaughter. The accused, Aisha Mustapha, who resides in Tsafe town, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, has been remanded in Gusau prison for two weeks following the court appearance on Friday. Malam Surajo Usman, the judge of the Sharia High Court, stated that the court documents revealed that the accused person had subjected her stepdaughter to atrocities that severely affected her well-being. The case is set to continue on December 28, 2023.
