Amidst an ongoing N500 million lawsuit from singer Naira Marley, Nollywood actress and movie producer Ufuoma McDermott has shown admiration for her colleague Iyabo Ojo.
In an Instagram post, Ufuoma expressed her admiration for Iyabo, highlighting her intentional and conscious fight for justice, her role as a voice of reason, and her overall positive traits as a person. She declared that Iyabo will always have her utmost respect.
Accompanying her heartfelt message was a picture of Iyabo Ojo.
Earlier, Naira Marley had filed a lawsuit against Iyabo Ojo, demanding a public apology or the risk of facing legal action amounting to N500 million in damages. He accused her of defaming him by sharing false and malicious content on her Instagram page.
In defense of her mother, Iyabo Ojo’s daughter, Priscilla Ojo, criticized Naira Marley for not resolving issues related to Mohbad’s catalog and unpaid royalties before pursuing legal action against her mother.
Similarly, Iyabo’s partner, Paul Okoye, came to her defense, emphasizing that she had not made any defamatory statements against Naira Marley. He also stated that Iyabo’s lawyer would be in touch with the singer to resolve the matter amicably or seek legal redress if necessary.
