12,435 Liters of Petrol Intercepted by Customs on its Way to Cameroon
The Nigerian Customs Service, specifically the Adamawa/Taraba Command, has successfully intercepted a total of 12,435 liters of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) with an estimated value of N10.8 million.
In a statement to the press in Yola, Customs Area Comptroller Bashir Garba-Bature disclosed the details of the seizure, which comprised 491×25lt and 8×20lt jerrycans of the fuel. The petrol was confiscated in Mubi while being transported towards Cameroon.
During recent anti-smuggling operations along the border, the command's officers have intercepted PMS shipments destined for Cameroon on five different occasions within a two-week period.
