Doctor and nurses apprehended by police in Kwara for missing placenta
Five health workers have been taken into custody by the Kwara State Police Command on suspicion of the mysterious disappearance of the umbilical cord and placenta of a newborn in Oke-Ero local government area.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred at the Iloffa cottage hospital last Sunday.
According to Daily Trust, the individuals detained in Ilorin for questioning are Dr. Ajibola, along with nurses Rukayat Adeloye, Aishat Awolusi, Peace Alabi, and Toyin Adewunmi, who is a ward attendant.
Sources mention that it was the intervention of elders from the Odo-Owa community that prevented angry youths from vandalizing the hospital in response to the incident.
