Robin van Persie secures his first coaching position
Heerenveen has named Robin van Persie, the former prolific striker for Arsenal and Manchester United, as their new head coach.
At the age of 40, this marks Van Persie's debut in a managerial role.
After concluding his playing career in 2019, which included a stint with his beloved Feyenoord, he transitioned to coaching the Under-18 squad of the Dutch team for the current season before progressing to this new position with Heerenveen.
Expressing his excitement for this opportunity, Van Persie stated, "As I strive for personal growth, the head coach position aligns perfectly with my aspirations."
He further added, "I am delighted with the chance presented to me by Heerenveen, a club in the Eredivisie known for its rich heritage and dedicated fans."
