Call for Circular from MDCAN to FG regarding Retirement Age for Doctors and Health Workers
Expressing concern, the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria, MDCAN, has highlighted the absence of a necessary circular from federal and state governments regarding the extension of retirement age for hospital consultants to 70 years for doctors and 65 years for other healthcare workers in the nation.
MDCAN also expressed dissatisfaction with the ongoing issue of inadequate salaries for clinical lecturers (honorary consultants) due to non-payment under the CONMESS structure designed for Medical and Dental Doctors in the Nigerian public service.
