Man accused of defiling neighbour’s daughter held in custody by court
Remand has been ordered for Haruna Abdullahi, 27, by a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court under allegations of defiling a 10-year-old daughter of his neighbor.
As reported by NAN, the Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, refrained from taking Abdullahi’s plea due to jurisdictional reasons and directed for his remand.
Emmanuel further instructed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, for guidance and set the case adjournment to June 26.
A resident of Kinkinau Kaduna, Haruna was charged with a single count of defilement.
The Prosecutor, Insp Chidi Leo, informed the court that the incident occurred on May 3 at the defendant’s residence.
