An Allegation by the Nasarawa Ethnic Group: 115 Persons Lost in Prolonged Crisis in Toto
Allegations have been made by the Gbagyi ethnic group in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State regarding significant losses attributed to the prolonged ethno-political crises that involve the Bassa and Egbura communities in the region.
Since the conflict's inception in 1997, the Gbagyi Cultural Renaissance Foundation (GCRF) claims that 115 Gbagyi members have lost their lives, and properties worth hundreds of millions have been destroyed.
The GCRF, in a statement released after an emergency meeting in Toto on Saturday and signed by Secretary Musa Dnasuwa, expressed deep concerns about the continuous attacks and intimidation their people have faced.
