June 27 Set for Judgment in Abacha Family’s Lawsuit against Nigerian Government Regarding Abuja Property
On June 27, Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court in Abuja is scheduled to deliver the verdict in a case brought by the family of the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha. The lawsuit challenges the revocation of the property belonging to the former military ruler in the Maitama District of Abuja.
The judgement date was fixed by Justice Lifu after a suit was filed by the late General Abacha's wife, Hajia Maryam Abacha, and her eldest surviving son, Mohammed Sani Abacha.
The defendants in the case include the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, the Federal Capital Development Authority FCDA, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and Salamed Ventures Limited.
