Celebrating his 74th birthday today, April 16, 2024, is businessman, Baba Oba (Dr.) Oladele Fajemirokun.
Fajemirokun, born on April 16, 1950, entered the world into the families of late High Chief Henry Oloyede Fajemirokun (Ifewara & Ile-Oluji descendants) and Chief (Mrs.) Osebosade Fajemirokun (Yeye Bobagunwa – nee Adepetun of Ondo descendants).
Having his early education in schools across Lagos, Ogun, Osun, and Ondo states, he completed primary schooling at Mayflower School, Ikenne, Ogun State, and secondary schooling at Loyola College, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Following this, he pursued his Advanced Level Studies at Gboluji Grammar School, Ile–Oluji, and later obtained a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife.
Described as a Nigerian and African entrepreneur, Fajemirokun has established himself as a respected and accomplished investor and trader over his 49-year career.
He is known for his unique business empire created at the age of 28, fostering entrepreneurship, mentoring talented individuals, and steering his diverse businesses strategically.
An outstanding entrepreneur, Fajemirokun has invested in leading companies across various sectors such as insurance, telecommunications, oil & gas, agriculture, supply food chain, and manufacturing.
His portfolio includes businesses like American International Insurance Company, Food Concepts & Entertainment Plc (owners of Chicken Republic), Xerox Nigeria, Johnson Wax, Kings Guards Securities Group Limited, Henry Stephens Group, FSS Gases Ltd, and Bluechip Communications Ltd.
In addition to his business ventures, Fajemirokun actively supports community development initiatives, embodying the principles of good corporate citizenship.
His notable roles include Executive Chairman at DF Holdings Limited, Non-Executive Chairman at various entities like AIICO Insurance Plc., AIICO Pensions Managers Limited, and AIICO Capital Limited, among others.
