At an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court, a 30-year-old man named Mojeed Oseni was remanded in a correctional facility for reportedly defiling a 17-year-old girl.
Oseni, whose address remains undisclosed, faces charges of unlawful penetration and defilement.
The court heard from the Prosecutor, SP Kehinde Ajayi, that the alleged incident took place around 4:00 pm on April 3 on Gbada Salami Street, Off Orisunbare Road, Lagos.
Ajayi mentioned that Oseni purportedly violated the victim’s consent using his fingers.
It was further stated that the defendant forcibly took the girl from her parents’ care with the intention of engaging in sexual activity.
These actions are said to violate Sections 137 and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubeinje, did not allow Oseni to enter a plea and instead ordered his confinement in a correctional center.
The case was adjourned until May 22 for advice from the DPP, as reported by NAN.
