2027: Peter Obi Believes Election Candidates are Determined by God

During a press conference in Abuja, Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, expressed his belief that the individuals who will run for election in 2027 are ultimately chosen by God.

Challenging affluent Nigerians to contribute more to the welfare of the less fortunate in society, Obi emphasized the importance of providing essential services such as water and education to the underprivileged.

He highlighted the stark wealth disparity in Nigeria, noting that approximately 70% of the country’s wealth is controlled by just one percent of the population. By urging the top one percent – equivalent to around 200,000 wealthy individuals – to invest in meeting the basic needs of the impoverished, Obi believes that significant progress can be made in addressing societal challenges.

Obi called upon governmental bodies at all levels to prioritize resource allocation towards enhancing the living conditions of the less privileged and lifting them out of poverty.

Reflecting on his humanitarian visits to various regions in the country, Obi underscored the urgent need for improvements in access to water and education. He recently oversaw the completion of ten boreholes in northern states to provide short-term water solutions for disadvantaged communities.

In the realm of education, Obi expressed admiration for the intellectual potential he observed in almajiris attending Quranic schools in the North. He emphasized the crucial role of providing adequate support to nurture these children’s talents and empower them to become agents of progress.

As part of his advocacy, Obi is leading a campaign to mobilize affluent individuals to contribute towards enhancing access to water for rural communities and facilitating the education of out-of-school children for their holistic development.

Regarding infrastructure development, particularly the state of roads, Obi stressed that his priority as President would be to rehabilitate the existing road network before embarking on new construction projects. He believes that a well-maintained road system is essential for fostering economic growth and connectivity across Nigeria.

Looking ahead to 2027, Obi expressed his current focus on addressing Nigeria’s pressing challenges and ensuring national progress. He emphasized that the decision of who will run for election in the future lies in the hands of God, underscoring his commitment to serving the interests of the less privileged and promoting the welfare of the nation.
