Zamfara State Government Refutes Allegations of Budgeting N19 Billion for Governor Lawal’s Kitchen Supplies

Addressing the media in Gusau on Tuesday, the Zamfara State Government dismissed claims of allocating N19 billion for Governor Dauda Lawal’s kitchenware as baseless.

Abdulmalik Gajam, the State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, labeled the circulating information on social media as deceitful and unverified.

Denying the allegations, Gajam emphasized that a government committed to fiscal discipline and prudent spending would not allocate such a colossal amount for kitchen and canteen equipment.

He stressed the administration’s transparency and willingness to engage with media and stakeholders for verification of facts instead of propagating unverified rumors.

Highlighting the importance of responsible journalism, Gajam urged media outlets to authenticate information before dissemination to prevent misinformation.

Gajam mourned the potential impact of the misleading reports on public perception and called for accurate reporting to avoid inciting unwarranted reactions from the people.

Under Governor Lawal’s ‘Budget of Rescue’ for 2024, the government aims to boost revenue generation, reduce expenditures, and enhance transparency in financial management for the benefit of Zamfara’s populace.

The state government has maintained a commitment to using public funds judiciously for the welfare and progress of its citizens since assuming office, as reported by NAN.
