Zamfara APC Condemns Looting of Properties Belonging to Matawalle Amid Nationwide Protest

Expressing their dismay, the Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the destruction of former governor Bello Matawelle’s properties at his country home in Gusau during the nationwide protest.

In a statement released by the party’s publicity secretary, Mallam Yusuf Idris Gusau, it was highlighted that the APC was disappointed by the deliberate targeting of APC personalities and properties by alleged PDP thugs.

The statement mentioned the attempted attack on the personal residence of former governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle on the first day of the protest, which was thwarted by the timely intervention of security personnel.

The APC emphasized that they would not tolerate any repeat of such destructive behavior, especially towards their leader, the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, who has previously been targeted by the same group of thugs.

Aside from Matawalle’s property, it was reported that the residence of Senator Sahabi Yau in Kaura Namoda was also vandalized by the thugs.

The party had foreseen the potential hijacking of the protest by hoodlums in the state and expressed gratitude towards the security agencies for their swift response.

Calling for the protection of lives and properties, the APC urged the security agencies to ensure the safety of its members and law-abiding citizens in the state.

Furthermore, they advised the youth not to be manipulated by unscrupulous politicians during the protests, emphasizing the importance of peaceful demonstrations that do not endanger lives or properties.

As the protests are within the constitutional rights of Nigerians, the APC stressed the need for a peaceful approach to addressing national concerns.

The party praised the security agencies for their proactive efforts in maintaining order during the protests.
