Young Woman’s Body Hacked to Death Found in Dumped Suitcase at Training Camp

Authorities in Kenya are currently investigating the perplexing murder of a woman whose body was discovered in a suitcase dumped outside the General Service Unit (GSU) Recce squad camp at Kimbo area in Ruiru, Kiambu County. The discovery was made on Monday evening, January 17th.

Juja Sub-county Police Commander Dorothy Migarusha confirmed the incident, revealing that the woman had been brutally attacked.

The victim, believed to be in her early twenties, was found within the sack and placed inside a black suitcase with her hands bound behind her back.

“She had also been tied around the neck with a nylon rope. The body had a visible deep cut on the left breast,” described a police report on the incident.

Furthermore, the body had a written message suspected to be from the perpetrators, which read “bwana ya mtu ni sumu”.

“She had ink writings on the chest, both palms, and both thighs which read “Bwana ya mtu ni sumu,”” the police report indicated.

The sub-county police commander suggested that the woman may have been murdered elsewhere and then disposed of near the heavily guarded GSU Recce squad station’s perimeter wall.

Local residents notified the police after discovering the body around 5:30 pm.

The body has been transferred to City Mortuary as investigations continue.
