Yomi Fabiyi’s Call for Protest Rejected by Mohbad’s Family

Actor Yomi Fabiyi’s recent call for a protest at the next court hearing has been opposed by the family of the late singer Mohbad.

Reports from NewsNow indicate that Mohbad passed away in mysterious circumstances on September 12, 2023.

Following this, his body was exhumed for an autopsy at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH.

Although the toxicology report did not reveal any significant findings related to his death, Mohbad’s family disputed the report and requested an independent autopsy.

In anticipation of Mohbad’s upcoming one-year anniversary, Fabiyi encouraged the public to peacefully protest during the court hearing.

He also suggested organizing a peaceful protest on the first anniversary of Mohbad’s passing to advocate for justice.

In response to Fabiyi’s call, the family, through a statement by one of their legal representatives, Monisola Odumosu, cautioned against protesting within the court premises as it could disrupt the legal proceedings.

The statement emphasized the importance of conducting all activities civilly to avoid any contempt of court issues.

“While individuals have the right to express their grievances within the confines of the law, entering the court precinct is a separate matter. Disrupting court proceedings is unacceptable and may result in charges of contempt of court,” the statement highlighted.

The family advised that protesters should respect the sanctity of court proceedings and refrain from causing any disruptions while exercising their rights.
