Yobe State Enforces Curfew in Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru LGs

On Thursday, the Yobe State Government announced the imposition of a curfew in Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru towns.

Reports indicate that the curfew was a response to the ongoing #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest in the state which some troublemakers have exploited to damage and steal from government and private properties in Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru.

A press statement signed by Brigadier General Dahiru Abdussallam (retd.), the Special Adviser to Governor Mai Buni on security matters, and shared with PUNCH Online, confirmed the imposition of the curfew.

Part of the statement mentioned, “The state government has declared a 24-hour curfew in Potiskum, Gashua, and Nguru.

”The general public is urged to respect the curfew directive and stay indoors to maintain peace in these localities and the entire state.”

Abdussallam emphasized, “Security forces have been instructed to ensure strict enforcement and adherence to the curfew regulations.
