Woman Shares Why She Tore Her Husband’s Passport in Viral Video

After tearing her husband’s passport in a widely circulated video, a woman known as Mrs. Favour Igiebor has expressed that she reached a breaking point in her marriage and felt the need to take a stand for herself.

Reflecting on her side of the story, Mrs. Igiebor emphasized that her years of sacrifice in the marriage could not simply be ignored at once.

She insinuated that her actions were a result of enduring a long-standing issue, urging viewers not to rush to judgments based solely on the video without delving into the underlying circumstances that led her to that point.

“This has been a recurring problem for a long time, and I have been tolerating it until I returned to Nigeria, where I took the step I did,” she explained.

“Before making assumptions, it’s crucial to understand the full story. I am not irrational; there were reasons for my actions, and I have endured numerous challenges,” Mrs. Igiebor added.

She further explained, “When pushed to the brink, one must react. I didn’t want to put him through undue stress, which is why I waited until we were in Nigeria to address it, rather than in Europe where I could have done the same. Please refrain from making uninformed comments. I have faced many familial hardships.”

“I cannot continue to suffer. I endured alongside him, and yet, they expect my suffering to be disregarded just like that,” she expressed emotionally.

“Must I remain silent until my death for people to acknowledge that I was enduring silently? I acted to make my suffering known,” Mrs. Igiebor concluded.

Earlier on Monday, the Nigeria Immigration Service initiated an investigation into the incident.

They highlighted that her actions may contravene Section 10(b) of the Immigration Act 2015 (as amended), which prohibits the deliberate destruction of Nigerian travel documents. The act specifies penalties for such violations.
