Witnessing the Devastation of the US Embassy in Baghdad After Iraq Protest (Images)

Visual evidence has surfaced, displaying the destruction caused by Iran-backed militants to the US Embassy during protests that took place on Tuesday and Wednesday in Baghdad.

A group of Iraqi protesters forcefully entered the US embassy compound in Baghdad, Iraq on Tuesday. They damaged the main door, ignited a fire in the reception area and entrance, in response to the US military’s strike on Iran-backed Kataib Hezbollah. This strike led to the deaths of 25 suspected terrorists, in retaliation for the killing of an American contractor in a rocket attack on an Iraqi military base last week. 

 

The protests ceased on Wednesday after the arrival of US Marines and Iraqi military forces at the Embassy, yet the fire had already caused substantial damage.
